The Hot Mic Media logo is an altered version of Ogg. They wanted an editorial vibe with a cutting-edge flair. Ogg is an unexpected san-serif font with high contrast, the perfect fit. Condesing the font to be reminiscent of magazine titles would appeal to their audience, women who grew up in the 80s and 90s.

Playing on the word "hot" we chose a classic hot pink to be the face color of the brand. A spicey red, refreshing blue, and golden yellow add diversity and fun to social graphics and marketing materials.

Creating news oriented social graphics with an edge was the most fun part of this brand development. We rely heavily on half-tone and photocopy textures, alluding to traditional newspapers. Using unexpected photographic layouts with heavy text overlays are part of our eye-catching methodolgy. The goal is to make people stop, read, and repost.

One of the important features of HMM is that they don't just focus on politics, but also pop culture, and how to two are often intertwined. Creating an aesthetic that aligned with these two topics simulateously was a fun challenge.
